Helpful Tip
When giving praise: The more specific and descriptive, the better.
For example, “You thought really hard about how to use those colors” is more effective than “You worked so hard on that drawing”.

- Acknowledge staying calm and trying again.
- Celebrate bravery and risk-taking.
- Praise a new skill.
- Encourage curiosity and asking questions.
- Acknowledge doing something kind for someone else (for no reason other than to help that person or make them feel good).
